Inspiration: “I went back to Taiwan, where I was born, a year and a half ago,” he said. “I realized I was ready to take on one of the biggest subjects I grew up with, how does a Chinese designer do ‘China’? I’ve lived in America, Canada, and Japan, but to come back to this means so much to me.”

Karlie Kloss, Jason Wu, CNN correspondent Alina Cho , Iris Apfel ,Designers Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs and more hit up the 2012 YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund Geoffrey Beene National Scholarship Awards dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Erjona Ala, Meghan Collison and Shanina Shaik displayed Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 collection which was inspired by Indian maharajas (which means great or high king) and illustrations from Charley Harper. Jason’s collection had bold colors of red, green and blue, the dresses were hand embroidered . Capes came in camel hair and had black beading on the shoulders.
