Melodie Monrose is 18 years old and hails from the Caribbean island of Martinique.  Melodie is signed with Wilhelmina Models, Height: 5’10 | Bust: 32 | Waist: 24 | Hips: 34.5 | Shoe: 7.5 | Hair: Black | Eyes: Brown.  Melodie was discovered literally 2 months ago and has already made a strong presence on the runways for Spring /Summer 2011. Between New York, London & Milan fashion week she has walked a total of 33 shows thus far.  Prior to modeling Melodie was studying Literature and Language.

    I love melody. She looks like a cross between former miss universe winner Wendy Fittzgerald(cheekbones) and model lyndsey scott. I hope she has a long career. I don’t like how blk models are good for a season or two then thrown in the dust bin so to speak. models like scott and re’l dade start off very strong but then fall off the map so to speak.

      They aren’t thrown away it’s up to a model to continue their career, there are other things for a model to do besides runway. A model’s career is not based on her race.

    How does a model “futher her career” so to speak?

    Why was it easier for blk models to do in Naomi & Tyra’s day versus now.

    blk models aren’t very visual in editorials either.
    but I see plenty of them in the commerical end.

      Modeling back then is different from how it is now. Back then it was more about the model’s personality coming through on the runway vs now the models don’t even smile while they walk down.

      How does a model “futher her career” so to speak?

      They have to be versatile, Chanel Iman is versatile she can do commercial, high end , editorials and runway. And that’s why she’s ranked no 13 out of 50.
